Barbour

Bendale Jacket

Speaking of British jackets, Barbour is at the top of my list. I own a few different versions, but how can you go wrong with the Bedale? Improves with age and the patina just gives it more character and personality. Perfect for the fall, winter, rain storm or just heading to the pub!

Baracuta

G9 Harrington Jacket

I adore all-things British…to my vintage 1959 Austin Healey Sprite, trips to England to visit our company’s headquarters, Savile Row in London, and a good meal at the Ivy. The G9 fits right in. Worn by rock legends, movie icons, sports-stars and even James Bond, this is my favorite spring jacket. But only in navy blue with its quintessential red plaid interior. It’s certainly a combo platter of preppy and classic that never disappoints.

Rolex

Submariner

Men don’t have much of an opportunity to accessorize, that’s one reason I love watches. I’m also obsessed with time, being on time and doing things efficiently…maybe that’s another reason I like watches. Plus, I love great design, Swiss engineering and attention to detail. Which leads me to my two favorite references: the Rolex Submariner and Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch. I’m fortunate to own both and hope to have the opportunity to pass down to my future grandsons someday.

Favorite Clothing Designer

Sid Mashburn

At the moment my favorite men’s haberdashery and designer is Sid Mashburn. His sense of style, attention to detail and classic preppy look is exactly what I love most. My only wish is that he’d open a shop in Kansas City for us midwestern gentlemen.

Alden

Snuff Suede Shoes

Brown snuff suede shoes from Alden, a 140-year-old shoe maker, has and always will be my grail shoe. I have them in loafers, Indy boots and wingtips. I’ve even convinced myself they can be worn year-round with nearly every outfit I own. Pretty closes to addicted.

Ghost Blazer in Navy

I can easily proclaim the navy blazer as part of my standard uniform. It’s what I reach for first when I need to kick it up a notch. It’s a no brainer. It’s unbeatable. Plus, it nearly goes with everything from wool trousers, denim, chinos and every shirt imaginable. Sid Mashburn’s Ghost Blazer is my new favorite. Drop the mic, Sid.

Gucci

1953 Loafers

I actually never thought I would aspire for anything from the Gucci portfolio, but over time I’ve been seduced by Gucci’s driving loafers. Hard to go wrong with a pair of brown 1953 Horsebit Loafers and even better if you can keep them in your collection for another two decades.

Air Jordan 1 Low SE

By no means am I a sneaker head but I love the classic silhouette and retro look of the Jordan 1. If I could only wear one sneaker it would be the Air Jordan 1 Low SE. Plus I love the story of how MJ negotiated the mega-deal with Nike to create the iconic Jordan Brand.

Wayfarers

If they were good enough for the likes of JFK, they’re good enough for me. Wayfarers are an all-time classic…looked great on my father-in-law, Ted, in the 50’s and still at the top of my style list today.

Pentel

EnerGel RTX Retractable Gel Pen

I’ve tried hundreds of pens over the years and the Pentel EngerGel has been my go-to for the past couple of years. A super-smooth writing experience that does not smear, smudges or glob (no joke). A stylish designed barrel has a sleek and professional look. It feels great in your hand and comfortable with the Latex-free grip adds comfort and control. The pen comes in several colors and ink line sizes, but I prefer navy and gray with a 0.7mm tip.

Filson

Rugged Twill Briefcase

Until we design our JPC briefcase, I will continue to carry my classic and trusted Filson Rugged Twill. Originally introduced in 1994 this bag has become an immediate classic. I see managers in the field and executives in high-rise offices toting this case over their shoulder or by their side. I love to see the patina over the years and yes even a smug or slight rip in the material adds character. I own the tan, but the navy and green are also classics.

Victorinox

Classic SD

When I’m not carrying the JPC Legacy Knife, I enjoy this compact classic multifunctional tool. It’s surprisingly small and lightweight (0.6 oz), and you hardly notice it in your pocket. It has the classic Swiss Army blade, scissors and nail file (with a flathead screwdriver tip). The SD is unique and is available in several preppy colors. Gold is my preference.
